Maui Community Food Bank: An estimated one in ten people on Maui look to the Maui Community Food Bank in times of need. In 2004, the A&B Foundation challenged Maui residents to donate $10,000 in food or cash to the Food Bank’s largest annual food drive, and matched that gift with a $10,000 grant. Here cheerful volunteers collect community donations at the Maui Mall.

Hawaii Maritime Center: In 2005, the Hawaii Maritime Center celebrated a mortgage-burning aboard the Falls of Clyde. Two decades of saluting nautical history have seen more than $1 million in contributions from Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. and the A&B Foundation. From left, Bishop Museum President Bill Brown, journalist and maritime enthusiast Bob Krauss, and A&B Foundation President Allen Doane take one last look at the old mortgage.
